My Story with Phototherapy Patches
Around 5 months postpartum, I developed a rash that started on my right elbow and quickly spread across my arms and legs. The itching was relentless. As a postpartum mama already running on very little sleep, the nights became even harder.
I didn’t want to use a steroid cream, so I tried a variety of natural approaches while trying to understand the source of the rash (my theory was that it was a histamine reaction). Nothing seemed to help.
Then a friend introduced me to phototherapy patches. I was intrigued—this form of light therapy aligned perfectly with my approach to health: supporting the body’s natural physiology rather than suppressing it. I didn’t have any expectations; I was simply curious. At less than the cost of a cup of coffee a day, I figured I had nothing to lose.
(Top left day 1 of using the patch, top right 3 days using the patch, bottom left 1 week, bottom right 2 weeks).
Within 24 hours, the intense itching subsided. Over the following two weeks, the rash gradually cleared (pictured below). I was honestly flabbergasted—I couldn’t believe such a simple tool had completely healed whatever was going on in my body. That experience made me want to keep using them and explore what else they might offer.
An Unexpected Shift
After about a month of use, I noticed something completely unexpected: my hips no longer ached. THIS WAS HUGE FOR ME!
Eight years ago, I had two hip surgeries, and ever since, I’ve dealt with chronic achiness and pain—especially during pregnancy and postpartum. Using the patches seemed to reduce the inflammation around my hip joints that had been causing daily discomfort.
Encouraged, I continued experimenting, starting with a 3-month trial period. Over time, I noticed subtle but meaningful changes:
More energy
Reduced pain in my feet
No hip aches
Clearer skin
Less puffiness
And, surprisingly… a major boost in libido!
Six Months Later
Now, six months in, I’ve tried several of the different patches, dug into the science, and started sharing them with friends, family, and clients. Watching others benefit in their own unique ways has been deeply encouraging, and it’s why I’ve decided to officially bring them into my practice.
Sometimes, the simplest tools can spark the most profound shifts. For me, these patches have been one of them.
Light as a Tool for Physiology
This experience reinforced a principle I’ve long valued: the body has a remarkable capacity for renewal, and sometimes the right environmental support—like light—can enhance function at a cellular level. Phototherapy patches don’t introduce anything into the body; they work with your own energy and biology to help optimize cellular processes.
I now share them in my practice—not as a miracle solution, but as a supportive tool for those who want to explore ways to optimize physiology, reduce discomfort, and improve overall vitality.
